GWO Fire Awareness - Basic (Blended Learning)

The course includes a theory and a practical part.

The course explains how a fire starts and develops. You learn how and with what means a fire can be extinguished. Of course, the dangers of extinguishing a fire are also discussed. The following topics are covered during the course:

• Personal safety
• Theoretical foundation
• Origin and development (spread) of fire
• Causes of fire in a wind turbine
• The associated risks
• Identifying signs of fire hazard
• Evacuation planning related to fire and smoke risk
• Practising using different scenarios

This training concerns a basic training. It is therefore intended for you if you have no experience in fire fighting, or if you do not (or no longer) possess a valid GWO Fire Fighting diploma.

The training is given in English. On request or if only Dutch-speaking students participate, the instruction can be given in Dutch.

• Valid GWO WINDA ID*

If you already have a WINDA ID: Please enter it in the comments field in the booking form.
If you do not have a WINDA ID yet: please request one. After filling in the requested data, an activation code, valid for 48 hours, will be sent to you by e-mail. Once you activate it and enter your password, you will receive a confirmation with your WINDA ID. Your WINDA ID will also appear at the top right of the page at that time. This WINDA ID is required for the registration of your certificates. We kindly ask you to send us your WINDA ID (preferably a few days before the training) by e-mail.

• Practical training at our training location in the Waalhaven
• Digital certificate as proof of completion. A paper certificate will be not sent by default. However, if desired, you can receive a paper GWO certificate at an additional cost of €25 excluding VAT. Read our blog article for more information. You will receive the same certificate upon completion of the GWO Fire Awareness - Basic (Blended Learning) as if you were taking the classroom version.
