E-BOSIET (digital delivery) with CA-EBS (5752) & / NOGEPA 0.5A
OPITO has launched an online learning method for the theoretical components of the Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) with Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS), as an alternative to classroom theory sessions. The training is combined with the NOGEPA 0.5A.
The OPITO BOSIET/NOGEPA 0.5A combination course including CA-EBS is a basic training course for offshore oil and gas personnel. Specific requirements and regulations are important for persons working offshore. Basic medical knowledge and survival at sea are among the skills that offshore personnel should have.
With the E-BOSIET, you follow the theoretical part at home via e-learning (take into account that it takes approximately 8 to 16 hours to complete the e-learning) and you follow the practical part at DELTA Safety Training (class duration 8 hours).
In this training our instructors will provide you with the necessary information and knowledge of the CA-EBS (Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System) systems, which is used in a helicopter as an aid to escape when a helicopter goes down in the water.
The Offshore Norge (NOG) - Escape Chute Training is also part of this training which is required for working on a platform in Norway. By the way, this supplement should not be confused with the S-Cape training.

Basic training OPITO E-BOSIET / NOGEPA 0.5A with CA-EBS
This training is a basic training, intended for people who do not (or no longer) have a valid BOSIET / NOGEPA 0.5A or FOET / NOGEPA 0.5B certificate.

The training will be given in English. Upon request or if only Dutch speaking students are participating, instruction can be provided in Dutch.

What are the admission requirements for the OPITO E-BOSIET / NOGEPA 0.5A with CA-EBS?
- Valid Offshore Medical certificate (NOGEPA or OEUK) including 'fit for in-water CA-EBS' stamp. (Fit for in-water PSTASS EBS Training)
- Completion of the e-learning module at the start of the practical day
- Successful completion of the assessment at the beginning of the practical day

What do I bring to the OPITO E-BOSIET / NOGEPA 0.5A training with CA-EBS?

- Personal Safety Logbook (Safety Passport).
You will receive a sticker for your safety passport (PSL) after the training. A safety passport is also available from us.

You can check the validity and expiration date of your OPITO certificate on the OPITO website. -
Can I follow the entire training course at home if I follow an E-BOSIET training course?
No, that is not possible. In the case of an E-BOSIET with EBS & CA-EBS, you follow the theory part at home, but for the practical part you spend 1 day of 8 hours at DELTA Safety Training on site. -
How many years is my certificate valid?
The certificate is valid for four years after being obtained. -
What is the difference between EBS and CA-EBS?
EBS stands for Emergency Breathing System and CAEBS for Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System. The EBS system is a rebreather with which you breathe in your own air again, as it were; a CAEBS system is a small air bottle that may run out at some point.
