This two-day basic (consecutive days) Gas Measuring course is designed for employees who already have experience with gas measurement. This is a course where we start from the basics, preparing you for the DELTA or SSVV Training Guide (SOG) Gas Measuring exam. DELTA also provides a NOGEPA 1.4 Gas Measuring course.

Contents Gas measurement (EX-OX-TOX) - Basic
The basic Gas Measurement training consists of a theoretical and a practical part:
Theory
- Basic concepts of toxic substance, poisoning, gases and vapours, effects of toxic substances on the body, definitions of limit value and TGG, dispersion-dependent factors for gases and vapours, relationship between volume percentage and PPM and mg/m3, toxic substances measurement.
- Basic concepts such as fire and explosion, description and understanding of explosion area, explosion limits and the percentages belonging to these limits, explosion measurement and interpretation of measurement results.
- Basic concepts such as suffocation due to lack of oxygen, effects of too high or too low oxygen content/percentage, oxygen measurement and interpretation of measurement data.
Practice
- Perform gas measurements independently
- Operating measuring equipment and any necessary aids
Both the theoretical and practical part will be concluded with a test.

Basic Gas Measuring Training (EX-OX-TOX) - Basic
This training is intended for people who already have experience with gas measurement and meet the entry requirements.

What language is the Gas Measuring (EX-OX-TOX) - Basic training course taught in?
The SSVV Training Guide Gas meter examination can only be taken in Dutch.
The DELTA exam can be taken in Dutch as well as in English.

What are the admission requirements for the Gas Measuring (EX-OX-TOX) - Basic course?
If SOG exam - valid diploma B-VCA or VOL-VCA
and:
In possession of at least one of the following certificates:- VAPRO (A,B,C)
- Laboratory Technology (MBO/HBO/WO)
- Chemistry (MBO/HBO/WO)
- MVK
- HVK
- MoSHE
- Occupational hygiene (post hbo)
- Firefighter training for scouting hazardous materials
- Chemistry (MBO/HBO/WO)
- Previous gas measurement SOG certificate expired more than 1 year
If the participant does not meet these requirements, the participant will be eligible for the three-day Gas Measurement Basis course.

Is a medical examination necessary for me to do my job?
No. It is not necessary to undergo a medical examination before starting work.

What is included in the price of Gas Measuring (EX-OX-TOX) - Basic training?
- Digital certificate as proof of completion. A paper certificate will be not sent by default. However, if desired, you can receive a paper certificate at an additional cost of €25 excluding VAT. Read our blog article for more information.

What certificate will I receive on completion of the Gas Measurement Course?
You can follow the training and choose whether you want to receive a DELTA or a SOG certificate. Do you want a SOG certificate? Then you will have to pay an additional fee. -
Do I have to take one exam after the training?
No, you will have separate exams for both the theory and practice sections. -
Why should I attend a two-day training course instead of a three-day training course on gas measurement?
The only difference between the two-day and three-day gas meter training courses is that, in the three-day course, you have an extra day in which the material from the previous days is repeated. If you do not need this extra repetition, you can follow the two-day gas meter training.
