GWO announces increase in WINDA ID fees effective April 1, 2024

GWO announces increase in WINDA ID fees effective April 1, 2024

General GWO Wind
March 28, 2024

What does this mean to you?

Are you working in the wind industry and use the Global Wind Organization (GWO) for your training and certifications? If so, you may have already heard that changes are coming. GWO has announced that they will be increasing the fees for the WINDA ID. But what exactly does this mean for you and your company?

What does the increase entail?

Currently, we charge EUR 10 (excl. VAT) per module to our customers with which we pass on the GWO WINDA costs, we have. As of April 1, 2024, the WINDA ID cost with us will be EUR 10.35 (ex. VAT) as GWO will charge this amount to us for each module for which we issue a certificate as of April 1. This change will apply to all GWO training courses booked with us on April 1 or thereafter. Did you make a booking with us before April 1 whose training starts on Monday, April 1 or after? Then you will still pay our old rate of EUR 10 (excl. VAT) per module, even if the training starts on April 1 or after.

Why is this increase taking place?

You may be wondering why GWO has chosen to raise fees. There are several reasons behind this:

  1. Inflation control: Due to inflation in recent years, GWO has been forced to increase service charges. This adjustment is essential to cover operating costs and ensure the quality of their services.
  1. Improved quality assurance: The wind industry continues to evolve, which is a positive development. However, this also means that training standards must be continually improved to ensure safety. The increase in costs allows them to make these improvements.
  1. Continuous improvement: The price indexation allows them to fund research that allows them to continuously improve the training and certification process. This ultimately benefits you as a professional in the wind industry.
  1. Global reach: As GWO gains global recognition, the demand for this certification also increases in new markets. This results in increased demand for all types of training and certifications in these markets, ultimately leading to more opportunities for you and your company if you have a GWO certification.

What does this mean to you?

While a price increase is never fun, it is important to understand why it is happening. The increase in WINDA ID fees allows GWO to maintain and improve the quality of its services, which ultimately benefits you as well. GWO remains committed to the highest standards of training and certification so you can continue to work safely and efficiently in the wind industry.
